Tire Slides
Tire water slides are an exciting pleasure for visitors of all ages because they offer a unique sliding experience with floating tires. The use of tyres makes the slides more accessible and ensures an exciting and safe driving experience. This type of slide offers a special adrenaline rush thanks to the control with the tyre, making every ride a special adventure.
In addition, tyre water slides require only a small amount of personnel. After a short briefing, guests can use the slides on their own, making the attraction low-maintenance and cost-efficient for operators. At the same time, this ensures a maximum level of fun for visitors.

Construction and Features

The manufacture of water slides depends on the specific requirements of the customer and the chosenmaterial. There are two main materials: stainless steel and glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP), which are produced in Wiegand's own plants in Rasdorf and Brüssow in Germany. With over 350 employees worldwide, the company ensures that the slides are pre-produced in the best possible way in order to minimize assembly times at the site. Theconstructionis carried out internally in regular coordination with the project management, the customer and theproduction.

A water slide uses an inclined plane and smooth materials such asGRPorStainless steelto allow low friction downward movement. The running water and sometimes rubber tires or mats help to further reduce friction so that one or more people can have a sliding experience at the same time. The speed is determined by the slope of the slide, with classic slides such as theWR1040which usually have a gradient of up to 13%.

The slide speed on a water slide varies depending on the slide type and design. Cozy slides such as whitewater rivers reach speeds of about1–2 km/hwhile steeper high-speed slides can reach over50 km/h. The speed is influenced by various factors, including the slope of the slide, the amount of water and special design elements.
We customize the said parameters to allow for different slide experiences, from the gentle family slides to action-packed adrenaline rides.

The steepness of water slides can vary considerably. The most extreme form is theFalling startwith a gradient of over 80°, which changes from an almost vertical start to a smoother slide. In contrast, whitewater rivers are almost horizontal. Generally speaking, the steeper the slide, the faster the slide speed.

TheConstruction periodof a water slide cannot be specified as a flat rate, as this period depends on the size of the slide, the production utilization and the construction phases. As a rule, you should expect several months from project planning to completion. For some projects, such as for example cruise ships, planning can take several years. The assembly time varies between a few days and several months depending on the type of slide.

The construction of a water slide begins with the preparation of the foundation. Depending on the site structure, support pylons and stairs are then erected, followed by the assembly of the outlet basin. The slide itself is usually assembled from the bottom to the top. This is done by our own assembly teams and auxiliary workers on site.

The construction work begins with an individual planning phase, in which we adapt the design to the circumstances and wishes of the customer. After that, the production takes place in our own plants by using high-quality materials such as stainless steel and GRP. The prefabricated slide parts are then assembled on site and extensively tested before the commissioning phase. Even after the installation, we will be available with maintenance and services.
